Coquitos: The Puerto Rican Holiday Classic — Made Even Better with Coco Cubes
A Delicious Holiday Coquito
Every holiday season, homes across Puerto Rico fill with laughter, music, and the unmistakable aroma of coquito — the island’s beloved coconut-based holiday drink. Creamy, sweet, spiced, and festive, coquito is more than a recipe. It’s a tradition. A moment. A flavor that brings people together.
And like all great traditional dishes, the quality of the ingredients matters — especially the coconut cream.
Most coquito recipes rely on canned cream of coconut or coconut milk, but when you use fresh coconut cream or high-quality Coco Cubes Frozen Coconut Cream Cubes, the flavor transforms. Suddenly the drink tastes lighter, brighter, more aromatic — closer to its tropical roots. You taste real coconut, not the metallic sweetness or heavy stabilizers of canned products.
This is why so many home cooks and bartenders are turning to Coco Cubes Frozen Coconut Cream Cubes™. Frozen at peak freshness, they capture the purity and richness of traditional coconut cream made in the islands — and bring it straight into your kitchen.
Why Fresh or Frozen Coconut Cream Makes a Difference
Canned coconut cream is processed at very high heat, often mixed with gums and sugar to keep it shelf-stable for years. Convenient? Yes. Authentic? Not quite.
Coco Cubes, on the other hand:
Are made from 100% whole coconuts
Contain no additives, no gums, and no preservatives
Are frozen fresh, keeping the natural coconut flavor intact
Provide a silky texture that blends seamlessly into holiday drinks
Taste cleaner, lighter, more real
In coquito, this freshness matters. You get a smoother drink, more natural sweetness, and that unmistakable tropical aroma that canned products simply cannot match.
If you want your coquito to taste like something straight from the Caribbean — this is the way.
Coquito Recipe (Coco Cubes Holiday Edition)
This version leans closer to authentic Puerto Rican coquito — creamy, coconut-forward, not overly heavy, and with just the right amount of spice.
Ingredients:
8 Coco Cubes Frozen Coconut Cream Cubes™, thawed
1 can (12 oz) evaporated milk
1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk
1–1.5 cups white rum (to taste; Puerto Rican rum recommended)
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
⅛ teaspoon nutmeg
Cinnamon sticks for serving
Instructions:
In a blender, combine the thawed Coco Cubes Coconut Cream, evaporated milk, condensed milk, and coconut milk. Blend until completely smooth.
Add vanilla, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Blend again.
Add the rum and give it a final spin until fully combined.
Taste and adjust: add more rum for heat, more coconut cream for richness, or more cinnamon for warmth.
Pour into glass bottles or jars and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, ideally overnight. Coquito thickens and deepens in flavor as it chills.
Serve cold, with a dusting of cinnamon and a cinnamon stick.
Result:
Creamy, tropical, festive — and beautifully balanced.
This coquito tastes like Christmas in the Caribbean, crafted with the purity and freshness of Coco Cubes.
A New Way to Celebrate Tradition
Coquito has always been about family, memory, and the joy of sharing something delicious. Coco Cubes doesn’t replace tradition — it honors it. By using coconut cream that stays close to its island origins, you create a drink that’s richer, fresher, and more meaningful.
This holiday season, bring a little Coconut Paradise into your home.
One cube at a time.
